I've always innately understood honor. When I was about seven my mother grounded me and told me that I could not have soda that week. Well I went on a school fieldtrip that week and when it came time to enjoy snacks I was offered a coke and actually called my mom for permission. Shocked my mother said yes of course and when she asked me why I bothered to ask when she would've never known. My answer was that I would know. I haven't changed :)
I began freaking people out at three months of age. My mother told my grandmother that I was saying Hi to people. Of course grandma didn’t believe her until one month later when we went to visit her in Chicago for my 1st Christmas. Grandma was holding me, she looked at me and said, “hi Aehlex”. I looked at her and responded with a long “hiiiiii” and a smile. Grandma yelled, “oh my God this girl does say hi!”
When I was 18 months I almost died of viral meningitis and had to have a spinal tap. I spent two weeks in the hospital. As a side effect of the meningitis I had migraine headaches from the age of two to twelve. In the summers I would get them every other day. There was no medication for migraines back then so I would just scream and cry for hours with a wet towel on my head. When I was twelve I woke up one day and knew that the migraines were gone and would never return. I have not had one migraine since. I am currently 32. Having that experience made me very sensitive to those with migraines and I have healed two people without touching them. It's not something I have learned or attempt often as a matter of fact I just recently tried again for the first time in over ten years with decent results. I am very practical and logical although I allow myself not to be logical when necessary. I lead by example and teach from experience.
My father was a Motown A&R guy who produced and wrote many of Stevie Wonder’s first albums and also came up with Wonder as
Stevie's last name. Dad’s brother started the first ever soul group. He also has been credited with inventing distortion and feedback for electric guitars and fuzz bass. My Godfather was Marvin Gaye although he died when I was 8 or 9. Months before my father died I began having very vivid dreams of my dad telling me that he would be leaving soon. I tried to tell my mom but she told me not to say things like that so I kept it to myself. My dad and I spent what I believe was our one and only Thanksgiving together that year before he died. Within weeks after Thanksgiving I began having the dreams. My father passed only months later.
I grew up with my mother who worked in film and television. I'm still in the biz and I also have a Wedding videography/Photography business.
